I believe your experiment has been successful. I spend a lot of time surfing metal sites and I've really begun to see more and more people talking about Kekal.

Yeah, and in the case of Kekal, there's no other way to promote the music rather than offering the music itself for free.. lots of general metal fans (who know and once loved Kekal in the past) tend to avoid us like a disease after we released "1000 Thoughts of Violence", and they have stopped to talk about us in metal forums, etc., so there's no way to reach to potential music lovers out there that might like our music, if we don't make our albums for free.. And recently, the decline of CD sales worldwide makes more sense for this new way of marketing the music..

| I think as you see bands like Sigh, Unexpect, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum as well others continue to see more recognition there is room in there for Kekal as well.

Yeah, and I think labels like The End rec. & Ipecac already built circle of fans that are into some experimental side of things.. So it's not like 4 or 5 years ago when fans of this kind of music were spread all over the place and make it hard to reach.. It's more targeted at this moment.. just shoot them with information & music..

| well done Jeff,
I personally think this was a very strong album
(although I can't call any album of Kekal weak except for spirits of the ancient days, where the oldest tracks are rather sad and hard to listen to :p )
Kekal is one of the most diverse, unique and strong bands/projects around,
I just bought the Habit of Fire btw
Now I have all Kekal releases (except for the demo-tape, that I sold :p ) |
