Flash drive would be an awesome way to distribute music... for sure...

Sadly though.. I think the CD will eventually die out Sad I like CDs....

Anyways, I think it'd be great to free download your next album... but also have a physical version of it available, I for one would probably buy it.... especially since I've recently been enjoying Kekal quite a bit...... (I'll be ordering 'Habit of fire' soon... hopefully).

Soon?? How about..... Now! Very Happy

I checked the prices for the flash-drive, they still charge too much for that little thing, it's like the cost of pressing CD when it first came out during late 80's.. But I believe the cost will become lower and lower in next few years.... However that's a pretty good option anyway.. and maybe we will re-issue our old albums on Flash drive only.. That would be sick (and cool)...

CD format has been here for over 20 years now, so there are lots of 'emotional factors' surrounding it... The way we're responding to it is pretty much like LP (vinyl) when it started to get replaced by CD.. This is an important factor too.. That's why it is better to have the CD format as well, which works as part of the merchandise (that carries more on the 'emotional' side)..

Hahaha... well I'll see if I can order it this weekend.. lol

Anyways... yeah, that would really be the only barrier right now to flash drives: the cost.

I think that CDs will stick around for quite a while yet... at least I hope so... but they will depart eventually.

I also hope, because that is the most 'adequate' format of digital audio storage, and it has been proven for its longevity.. But once again, everything depends on the major labels out there, as they still have huge influence on the music market today.. If they no longer press CD, then many CD manufacturers will die, and the companies who make the CD pressing machines (and the plastic discs) won't produce such machines anymore..
A similar thing happened earlier with the digital revolution in audio recording, nowadays I think no one produces analog tape & analog tape machines, because there is no significant demand on them.. Vinyl format is another story, lots of DJ's and clubs are still using them, so they are still around, although more of an 'indie' thing right now..
