| | | | Ending as we know it? | Tue Jun 24, 2008 3:40 pm by James | As everyone knows, the economy blows therefor it's become extremely difficult to make even a little money these days. We are on the verge of having to make some decisions based on this fact alone. It may come in the form of scrapping some future releases, or at least pushing them back further than expected.
I've spoke with other label owners recently and their experiencing the same issues. People aren't buying. Everyone is over stocked and product is not leaving the shelves.
We've been lucky with some really good selling cds lately from the sub-label Sullen that has managed to keep us a float. Hopefully we can see that upcoming Sullen releases selling as strongly as the prior ones.
The sad thing is that our $6 and $5 Cd sales have been known to save a bad month for us. This past $5 CD sale didn't even make a dent.
I guess time will only tell.
All I know is that we need cheaper gas and food.
I'd appreciate if this thread didn't get copied to any other boards or news sites. I'm just venting to the people that I consider friends.
